Charged with carrying a race-high 58kgs, Bel Sprinter will need to find an extra gear if to overcome the wide and awkward barrier 18 in the 2015 Oakleigh Plate.

A standout performer over the 2013 edition of the Autumn Carnival, Bel Sprinter returned to racing for an impressive victory in the Group 1 The Galaxy (1100m); progressing to a credible third behind equine superstar Black Caviar in the Group 1 T.J. Smith Stakes (1200m) before a trip abroad heralded an impressive second to Lucky Nine in the Group 1 International Sprint (1200m) in Singapore.

While unable to make much of a competitive run through the 2014 Autumn Carnival, the son of Bel Esprit returned in good form in spring; winning the Group 2 Caulfield Sprint (1100m) first-up before claiming mid-pack finishes in the Group 2 Salinger Stakes (1200m) and Group 1 Winterbottom Stakes (1200m).

Three-year-olds are treated particularly well in the weights in the Group 1 Oakleigh Plate, and in 2015 will see Earthquake, Eloping and Nostradamus charged with just 50.5kgs.

The standout two-year-olds through the 2014 autumn, Earthquake charged home to win the Group 3 Blue Diamond Prelude F (1100m) first-up; overcoming the wide and awkward barrier 14 to take out the Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) a fortnight later.

Continuing her perfect career start through the Group 2 Reisling Stakes (1200m), the Exceed And Excel filly did not handle the soft, rain-soaked track during the Group 1 Golden Slipper (1200m), but did manage an impressive second.

While unable to reach similar condition over spring, Earthquake has reportedly worked well in the lead-up to the 2015 Oakleigh Plate and is a great chance for success.

Brave filly Eloping posted several impressive results over 2014, and while only managing seventh in the Group 2 Rubiton Stakes (1100m) first-up, is sure to take priceless condition from the hit-out.

Claiming six wins and three minor places from her 14 starts, Eloping returned to racing for third in the Group 2 McEwen Stakes (1000m); progressing to consecutive victories in the Group 3 Champagne Stakes (1200m) and Listed Blue Sapphire Stakes (1200m).

Placing a credible sixth in the major Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m) on November 1st, the daughter of Choisir returned to the paddock following a close run for second in the Group 3 Mumm Stakes (1100m) on Crown Oaks Day.

Stamping his claims as one to watch when comfortably taking out the Group 3 San Domenico Stakes (1100m) upon resuming in spring, Nostradamus was unlucky to be blocked for a run and seventh in the Group 3 Run To The Rose (1200m) on August 30th, but responded well when placing a credible fifth in the Group 1 Golden Rose Stakes (1400m).

Placing a close second in the Group 2 Roman Consul Stakes (1200m) on October fourth, the son of Medaglia D’Oro had clear had enough when beating only three runners home in the Coolmore Stud Stakes. is currently offering the best odds on all Caulfield races this weekend, including the Oakleigh Plate!
