Extreme Choice is yet to appear at the races in 2017, but remains a resounding $3.90 favourite in 2017 Oakleigh Plate betting markets with leading online bookie Ladbrokes.com.au.

Extreme Choice has been a standout for Mick Price throughout his entire racing career so far and will enter the Oakleigh Plate 2017 with a positive record of four wins from six starts.

Winning the Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) most notably in autumn 2016, the Not A Single Doubt colt resumed in spring for a standout victory amongst open company in the Group 1 Moir Stakes (1000m) at Moonee Valley.

Having been sent to the paddock after failing to match the late pace and fifth in the Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m), Extreme Choice will carry only 54kgs in the Oakleigh Plate and will be partnered by regular hoop Craig Newitt.

Fell Swoop has received steady support in 2017 Oakleigh Plate betting markets and remains sole occupant of the second line of betting, at a generous $7 quote.

Fell Swoop finished an agonizingly-close second to Flamberge in the 2016 edition of the Oakleigh Plate and continued to impress through an autumn campaign which also heralded fourth in the Group 1 The Galaxy (1100m) and second in the Group 1 TJ Smith Stakes (1200m).

Resuming in spring for third in the Group 2 Schillaci Stakes (1100m), the son of Not A Single Doubt stormed home to finish second in the Group 1 Manikato Stakes (1200m) before ending his year third in the Group 1 Darley Classic (1200m).

Having trialled well in the lead-up to the Oakleigh Plate, Fell Swoop will have to overcome 56kgs but is sure to receive a gem of a ride from Damien Oliver.

Hellbent has been charged with overcoming the awkward barrier 13 in the Oakleigh Plate, but the talented sprinter will carry only 52kgs and is the sole occupant of the third line of betting at a $7.50 quote.

Hellbent has been a strong and consistent performer throughout his entire racing career, but has undoubtedly gone to another level since transferring to the care of Darren Weir partway through 2016.

Resuming this time for third in the Listed Kensington Stakes (1000m), the I Am Invincible entire tuned up well for the Oakleigh Plate when fourth in the Group 2 Rubiton Stakes (1100m) last time out.

Rubiton Stakes runner-up I Am A Star ($9) is the only other runner currently available at Oakleigh Plate odds of less-than $10 at Ladbrokes.com.au.
